Volume precedes price. Always. In fixed income, the issuance calendar is the earliest lead indicator of where the marginal dollar gets allocated. Every billion of fresh IG paper needs a buyer. And every buyer of a Microsoft 10-year at 140 basis points over Treasuries is a buyer who is not standing in BTC, ETH, or the latest DeFi beta. The last time supply of this caliber hit the tape — the 2020-2021 refinancing supercycle — risk assets absorbed a liquidity vacuum before they ever felt the QE tailwind.
